INLD-BSP to jointly contest Haryana elections

INLD and BSP form alliance for Haryana assembly polls, with INLD contesting 53 seats and BSP 37 seats. Abhay Chautala named as CM candidate. Open to non-BJP and non-Congress parties joining.

ANI
The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have forged an alliance for the upcoming assembly polls in Haryana and invited other parties, including AAP to join them.

The Haryana-based regional INLD will contest 53 out of the 90 assembly seats and the BSP will contest the remaining 37 seats. The announcement was made by the INLD general secretary Abhay Chautala and BSP national general secretary Akash Anand.

Chautala has been announced as the chief ministerial candidate for the alliance.

Talking to ET, Chautala said they are open to other non-BJP and non-Congress players and will make space for them in the alliance. It would be interesting to see what impact this alliance, seen as a third front, would make in the Haryana politics which has been traditionally bipolar in nature.

In the outgoing Haryana assembly, out of these two only INLD has an MLA - Abhay Chautala.
