Saini will also hold the charge of town and country planning portfolio, perceived as one of the most plum portfolios in Haryana's political circles.
He has also kept information and public relations, housing for all, law and legislative, and criminal investigation (CID) departments, among others, as per the official order issued late on Sunday.
Seven-time MLA and senior most leader in the Saini cabinet, Anil Vij, has been given transport, energy and labour portfolios. In the previous BJP-JJP government, he held important portfolios like home, health, technical education, and science and technology.
First-time MLA and daughter of Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh, Arti Rao has been assigned medical education and research. Both Rao Inderjit and Vij had expressed their desire to become chief ministers in the run-up to the Haryana assembly polls.
Another senior leader in the Saini cabinet, Krishan Lal Panwar has been allocated rural development, Panchayati raj, and mines and geology.
Rao Narbir Singh will oversee industries and commerce, environment, forests and wildlife. The BJP's most prominent Jat MLA Mahipal Dhanda will oversee school education, higher education, archives, and parliamentary affairs.
Vipul Goel has been given a crucial portfolio of revenue along with disaster management, urban local bodies, and civil aviation.
Arvind Sharma will be responsible for cooperation, jails, elections, heritage, and tourism. Shyam Singh Rana will handle agriculture and farmers' welfare, animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries.
BJP's OBC face Ranbir Gangwa will manage public health engineering and public works (building and roads), while Krishan Kumar Bedi will oversee social justice, empowerment, SCs and BCs welfare, hospitality, and architecture.
