AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday said the Congress would come to power on its own in Haryana and form the government with the National Conference in Jammu & Kashmir.

The Election Commission will announce the results of assembly polls on Tuesday. While Haryana went to polls on October 5, Jammu & Kashmir voted in three phases, the last of which ended on October 1.

"Earlier too, we had said that in Haryana and Jammu Kashmir, the Congress government will be formed. In Jammu and Kashmir, Congress and NC (National Conference) alliance will form the government, and in Haryana Congress government will be formed," Kharge said, answering queries from the media in Bengaluru.

Jammu and Kashmir, which was split into two union territories as J & K and Ladakh in 2019, went to assembly polls after a gap of 10 years.
