Debutant AAP's Chief Ministerial candidate Isudan Gadhvi lost the election against BJP candidate Mulubhai Bera. Khambhalia Assembly constituency, which is part of Devbhoomi Dwarka district, falls in the Jamnagar Lok Sabha constituency.

Gadhvi was pitted against Mulubhai Bera of the BJP and sitting MLA Vikram Madam of the Congress.

The 40-year-old journalist-turned-politician, once a popular Gujarati news anchor, was caught in a tough fight in Khambhalia. Social equations of Ahir-dominated Khabhalia were also not very favourable to Gadhvi whose community is numerically not so significant.

Isudan Gadhvi, who comes from Other Backward Classes (OBC), described himself as the "son of a farmer" and was expecting support from voters on AAP's three promises of "bijli, pani and daam" (power, water and remunerative prices for produce).
