Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel allocates portfolios. Here's who got what

Bhupendra Patel took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for a second straight term in Gandhinagar in a grand ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers, and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states.

Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel has allocated portfolios to his ministers. In total, eight have been given cabinet profiles while the rest are ministers of state.

Patel has named Kanubhai Desai as Gujarat Finance Minsiter while Harsh Sanghavi has retained the home portfolio.

CM Patel has retained over 13 portfolios including urban developement, ports, general administration, and information and broadcasting. Rishikeshbhai Patel has been named health minister, while the lone female minister Bhanuben Babaria has been appointed as a cabinet minister with Social justice, woman and child welfare portfolio.

Cabinet
  1. Kanubhai Mohanbhai Desai: Finance, Energy & Petrochemicals
  2. Rishikesh Patel: Health & Family Welfare, Law
  3. Raghavji Patel: Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Rural Development
  4. Balwant Singh Rajput: Industries, MSMEs, Civil Aviation, Labour
  5. Kunwarjibhai Bavlia: Water and irrigation, Civil Supplies
  6. Mulu Bhai Bera: Tourism, Culture, Climate Change
  7. Dr Kuberbhai Dindor: Tribal development, Primary education
  8. Bhanuben Babaria: Women and child development, Social Justice

  1. Harsh Sanghvi: Home, Sports and Youth Acitivities, NGOs, NRI
  2. Jagdish Vishwakarma: Cooperation, Salt, Protocol
  3. Parshottam Solanki: Fisheries
  4. Bachubhai Khabad: Panchayat, Farming
  5. Mukesh Patel: Forest and environment, Climate change, Water
  6. Praful Pansariya: Parliamentary affairs, Primary, secondary and higher education
  7. Bhikhusinh Parmar: Food and civil supplies, social justice
  8. Kunvarji Halpati: Tribal development, Labour
Earlier today, Bhupendra Patel took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for a second straight term in Gandhinagar in a grand ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers, and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states.

Sixteen other ministers, including eight of cabinet rank, were also sworn in. The new entrants include 11 former ministers.

The Cabinet ministers include Kanu Desai, Rishikesh Patel, Raghvji Patel, Balvantsinh Rajput, Kunvarji Bavaliya, Mulu Bera, Kuber Dindor, and Bhanuben Babariya.

Harsh Sanghvi and Jagdish Vishwakarma were sworn in as ministers of state with an independent charge.

The six other ministers of the state include Parshottam Solanki, Bachu Khabad, Mukesh Patel, Praful Pansheriya, Kuverji Halpati and Bhikhusinh Parmar.

Of these 16 ministers, four belong to the Koli community (Bavaliya, Khabad, Solnaki and Mukesh Patel), three are Patidars (Raghavji, Rishikesh and Praful), three OBCs (Vishwakarma, Parmar and Bera) and two are tribals (Halpati and Dindor).
