Gujarat Assembly polls: Counting of votes to be held in 37 centres tomorrow

The counting process will start at 8 am with the counting of postal ballots. From 8:30 am onwards, votes cast on EVMs will be counted.

All the preparation has been done by the Election Commission for tomorrow's counting of votes in Gujarat. The counting will be held at 37 counting centres across Gujarat, and a three-tier security arrangement will be in place for the counting process, ANI reported, quoting Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer P Bharathi. Moreover, the entire counting process will be videotaped.



The counting process will start at 8 am with the counting of postal ballots. From 8:30 am onwards, votes cast on EVMs will be counted.


According to the Election Commission's official release, there is one counting centre in each of the 30 districts, while three counting centres have been set up in Ahmedabad and two each have been set up in Surat and Anand.

The Gujarat assembly elections were held in two phases on December 1 and 5, with a turnout of only 64.33 per cent, the lowest in the last 10 years.
