Launching a scathing attack on the ruling BJP, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday alleged that efforts were being made to save the people responsible for the recent bridge collapse in Morbi.

Participating in a roadshow in Saurashtra, Kejriwal said that "the incident in Morbi is a very sad one. 150 people lost their lives, of whom 55 were young children. Tomorrow, they can be your children," Kejriwal said.

"While the accident is definitely a sad thing, a much more sad issue is that efforts being made to save the people responsible for the accident. The FIR filed in the case does not mention the name of the company which renovated the Morbi bridge. Why? Why are they saving them? What is the relation of these people with them? There must be some relation between them," he added.

"Everywhere I am going, I am seeing a cyclone of change. Ask anyone and people say 'change, change, change'. This time, the double-engine government is not wanted, a new engine government is," he added. "If you bring 'double engine', the Morbi bridge will collapse. We shall make a shandar (grand) Morbi bridge," he added.

The official death toll at Morbi remains 136 including 51 children.
