BJP president JP Nadda on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on opposition parties for going into "isolation" during the Covid-19 pandemic, while congratulating BJP workers for "working for the people without fearing for their lives" at the hour of need.

Speaking to elected members of BJP in Rajkot, Nadda said: "When all the political parties had sat in their homes, were quarantined, went into isolation, were meeting only on Twitter, television but never went among the people, at that time you all went to people with the motto of service is organisation and reached out to criers of people, and I want to heartily congratulate you."

"Today is the time to evaluate. We are not here just for politics. A big part of BJP's ideology is that of service and humanity and which we have translated into action," he said. "And I would want to congratulate the elected representatives because you sacrificed yourselves totally into it, didn't care about your lives."

"People's memories are short," Nadda said, adding that the other political parties were politicising the issue of vaccination and raising questions on vaccinations and trying to undermine the efforts of PM Modi.

"Even the Congress has not remained its former self. Neither it is Indian, nor National, nor Congress, it is just a party of brother and sister," Nadda said.
