Shah started his campaign at Nadiad in central Gujarat where he launched a scathing attack on Congress. He claimed Gujarat witnessed riots because perpetrators became habitual of indulging in violence due to the prolonged support they received from the Congress. "But such a lesson was taught that the habit was forgotten and till 2022 no one took the name of a riot," he said. "The BJP government established unhindered peace in Gujarat by dealing with the communal rioters with a strong hand," Shah said.
Shad said Congress had reigned over this country and even Gujarat for many years. "During the Congress regime, development was not seen in Gujarat. Communal riots used to happen. They worked to trigger rifts between communities, between brothers and in these riots they always tried to strengthen their vote bank. For 70 years, Congress retained Article 370 in Kashmir, to maintain their vote bank. Do you know who their vote bank is?" Shah asked.
"While Congress sat on Article 370 and managed their vote bank, Modi Sahab on August 5, 2019, abrogated the Article along with section 35 A and this Kashmir forever joined with BJP, he said.. Shah also raked up the Ram Janambhoomi issue and pointed out that a grand temple is being built in Ayodhya under the BJP government. Later speaking at Jhalod in the tribal district of Dahod, Shah alleged that had Covid happened during the Congress regime, the vaccine would have never been introduced.
