"It was the greatness of the party to allow me to serve in Goa. I had decided earlier that I will fight at the state and national levels but not in electoral politics," said Falerio.
Trinamool Congress vice-president Luizinho Faleiro on Friday withdrew his candidature from Fatorda assembly constituency. The party has now replaced Faleiro with advocate Seoula Vas. Faleiro clarified that he wanted to stay away from electoral politics and work for the state and at the national levels. "I am happy and privileged to make space for the young candidate. I am grateful to our national chairperson Mamata Banerjee for giving me the opportunity to fight from Fatorda. She also gave me the opportunity to become national vice-president and sent me to the Rajya Sabha. It was the greatness of the party to allow me to serve in Goa. I had decided earlier that I will fight at the state and national levels but not in electoral politics," said Falerio.
