Former finance minister Manish Sisodia promised 20 lakh jobs in five years in 2022-23. Introducing the 2022-23 Budget, Sisodia stated, "In my eighth budget in this House, I am presenting an agenda to create new in Delhi and boost economic recovery from the damage caused in recent years due to COVID-19, GST, and demonetisation."
Sisodia listed out 16 schemes for generating these jobs. These included renovation and innovation plans for Delhi's famous retail market, organising a Delhi shopping festival, launch of a Rozgar portal and Delhi Bazaar portal, sprucing up of wholesale markets, a cloud kitchen policy, organising an international film festival in Delhi, encouraging entrepreneurship programmes in school. A look at the Budget reveals that barring two initiatives of Entrepreneurship development programme in schools and an employment market portal called Rozgaar portal nothing has taken off.

Sisodia had said, "Through these schemes we will not only bring back the splendor and glory of Delhi's markets and businesses, but will also encourage the present and future businesses of the 21st century in Delhi. With all these efforts, at least 20 lakh new jobs will be created in Delhi in the next five years."
There is no achievement metric available in the public domain.

In 2023-24, Delhi government tapped into yet another aspiration of Delhiites - world-class pothole-free roads. he government also proposed to hire a private agency to ensure kerbstones were painted and all encroachments are removed from the roads and pavements. This scheme also did not take off.
