The elections for all 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi were held on February 5 and the counting has begun at 8 am on Saturday. Rohini, located in northwest Delhi, is a key constituency with AAP and BJP facing off.

BJP's Vijender Gupta leads by over 36,000 votes against AAP leader Pradeep Mittal after 16 rounds of counting, as per EC's trends.


Rohini election result 2025: Vijender Gupta secures hattrick wins

BJP's Gupta has won for the third straight time from the constituency. In 2020, Vijender Gupta of BJP won by a margin of 12,648 votes. He secured 62,174 votes, while AAP's Rajesh Bansiwala received 49,526 votes. In the 2015, Gupta won with 59,866 votes, securing a narrow win against AAP's CL Gupta who got 54,499 votes.


Rohini electoral demography

There were 1,82,979 voters in the Rohini constituency during the 2020 Assembly Elections. Out of this, 95302 were male and 87,665 were female voters, according to Election Commission's data.


In 2015, the total number of voters in the Rohini constituency was 1,74,600. Out of this, 91,328 voters were male, 83,262 were females.


Delhi election 2025

In previous elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured consecutive landslide victories, winning 67 out of 70 seats in 2015 and 62 in 2020. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) improved marginally in 2020, winning eight seats, while the Congress failed to secure any. This year, all three parties are in a fierce electoral battle, promising voters a range of welfare schemes and policy initiatives.

A total of 699 candidates, including 603 men, 95 women, and one third-gender person contested the election. A total of 1.5 crore voters had registered, out of which about 60 per cent voted on February 5.
