Malviya Nagar Election Results 2025: Somnath Bharti vs Satish Upadhyay vs Jitendra Kumar Kochar, who’s winning?

The Malviya Nagar Assembly constituency, located between Saket and Hauz Khas, went to polls on 5 February as part of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.

A three-way contest

The election in Malviya Nagar saw a three-way battle between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress. The AAP has held this seat for over a decade, with Somnath Bharti winning in the last three elections.

This time, Bharti contested once again, facing Satish Upadhyay from BJP and Jitendra Kumar Kochar from Congress.

AAP’s winning streak

Somnath Bharti has dominated this constituency for years:

• 2020 Elections: Bharti won with 57.97% of the vote, securing 52,043 votes. He defeated BJP’s Shailender Singh, who got 33,899 votes (37.76%).
• 2015 Elections: Bharti secured 51,196 votes, defeating BJP’s Nandani Sharma, who got 35,299 votes.
• 2013 Elections: Bharti won for the first time, establishing AAP’s presence in Malviya Nagar.

Will AAP hold the seat?

With a strong past performance, AAP hopes to retain Malviya Nagar. However, BJP and Congress are aiming for an upset. The results on 8 February will decide whether Bharti continues his winning streak or if a new leader emerges for Malviya Nagar.
