New Delhi: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday, unveiled his party's middle-class manifesto, making seven demands from the Centre, including raising the income-tax exemption limit to ₹10 lakh

"I am making seven demands to the central government for the middle-class," he said, calling it AAP's middle-class manifesto.

His first demand was that the education budget should be increased from 2% to 10% and there should be a cap on the fees charged by private schools.


The second one was that there should be subsidy and scholarships for higher education. The third is that the health budget should be increased to 10% and tax should be removed from health insurance.

His fourth demand was that income-tax (exemption) limit should be increased from ₹7 lakh to at least ₹10 lakh. Removing GST on essential items was his fifth demand.

Sixthly, for senior citizens, he demanded retirement and pension plans and free healthcare for senior citizens in private and government hospitals across the country.

His seventh and final demand was to re-start 50% concession for senior citizens in railway travel.

Kejriwal also slammed the Centre's tax policies, Arvind Kejriwal termed it "tax terrorism", and said, "People have to pay taxes while they are alive. Now, the government has created a situation where they have to pay even after death."
