The latest development sees AAP targeting BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, who has been projected as the BJP's chief ministerial candidate for the capital.
AAP's new poster takes a sharp jibe at Bidhuri, calling him "abusive" and labeling the BJP as a "Galli Galoch" party. The poster features an image of Ramesh Bidhuri with the caption, "Phata poster nikla galibaaz," mocking him as a "noisy troublemaker."
In response, the BJP has hit back, accusing the AAP-led government of corruption, inefficiency, and failing to tackle key issues like pollution. BJP leaders have also called the AAP government a "threat" to Delhi’s progress, coining the term "AAPda" to describe the negative impact they believe AAP has had on the city.
Both parties have exchanged strong words in the lead-up to the February 5 elections, which will be conducted in a single phase. While the BJP criticizes AAP's governance, the ruling party in Delhi has accused the BJP of resorting to "dishonest tactics" and "electoral fraud."
The Congress, which once held power in Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has faced a tough road in recent elections.
After failing to secure any seats in the 2020 assembly elections, the Congress will be hoping for a strong comeback, although the AAP’s landslide victory, securing 62 out of 70 seats, continues to dominate the political landscape. The BJP, with only eight seats in the 2020 elections, is also gearing up for a tough fight as it seeks to reclaim influence in the city.
As the election date draws near, the political atmosphere in Delhi is charged, with both AAP and BJP taking aggressive stances to win over voters.
