The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may provide women with Rs 2,500 per month in Delhi, according to a ToI report. This initiative aims to surpass the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojna, which offers Rs 1,000 monthly. The BJP is also considering an additional annual payment of approximately Rs 1,000 during festivals like Chhath Puja or Karwa Chauth.

AAP's Mahila Samman Yojna promises eligible women over 18 a monthly sum of Rs 1,000, potentially rising to Rs 2,100. The BJP is reviewing similar programs in BJP-governed states, like Madhya Pradesh's Ladli Behna and Maharashtra's Ladki Bahin Yojna, where cash transfers are made directly to women's accounts. The BJP intends to exceed AAP’s promised amount.

Eligibility for AAP's scheme includes women residents registered as voters in Delhi as of December 12. Government employees, MPs, MLAs, municipal councillors, and women who paid income tax in the previous assessment cycle are excluded.

The BJP also plans to retain the current free water and electricity benefits. The Delhi government currently provides free electricity for consumption up to 200 units and a 50% subsidy for 201 to 400 units. A similar subsidy exists for water consumption up to 20,000 liters.

To gather public input, Delhi BJP launched the 'Meri Dilli Mera Sankalp BJP' campaign. This feedback will inform the party's manifesto, addressing concerns like job security, wage revision, and student scholarships.

A BJP representative stated: "A large section of Delhi's people works in unorganised sectors and complain of a lack of job security and minimum wages not being paid. Those who work in the govt sector also complain of their contractual jobs not being regularised." The BJP aims to address these issues in its manifesto and pre-election announcements. The representative added that with the BJP controlling the central government, they are better positioned for legislative changes, stating: "If we come to power in Delhi, we will ensure that these sectors are regulated."
