The Delhi Police registered a first information report against CM Atishi on Tuesday for alleged Model Code of Conduct violation, kicking up a controversy with the ruling AAP alleging partisanship on the part of the Election Commission and the latter hitting back asking the party to refrain from pressure tactics. Atishi is contesting from Kalkaji constituency.

"We have registered an FIR against Kalkaji AAP candidate at the Govindpuri Police Station under various sections and further investigation is under process," said a police officer, adding that the action was taken as Atishi was found at Fateh Singh Marg along with 50-70 supporters and 10 vehicles.

When police instructed them to vacate the area as per Model Code of Conduct guidelines, the CM said that she had called the police and ECI to report the presence of BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri and other people intimidating voters but AAP supporters got targeted.
