Delhi election: Congress promises 33 pc reservation for women in govt jobs, 100 Indira canteens in second part of its manifesto

"A guarantee means it is the right of the public. Five guarantees have been announced for the people of Delhi. Right now, in Delhi, not about ease of doing business but ease of breathing. If you see any parameter for pollution and chemical contamination, none can match Delhi. Neither BJP nor AAP govt in Delhi have taken this issue seriously," Ramesh said.
Congress' 22 point manifesto was explained by state president Devender Yadav.
- Contract jobs will be ended, and all j0bs will be made regular jobs.
- 33 per cent reservation for women in government jobs.
- Pension to be increased from Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000.
- Widows' daughters will be given Rs 1.1 lakh for marriage.
- 100 Indira canteens will be established across Delhi. One plate of meal will cost Rs 5 in these canteens.
- 7.5 lakh street vendors to be given good opportunities.
- Caste census will be conducted in Delhi.
- A new ministry for Purvanchal.
- 24 hour dispensary in each ward, 10 multispecialty hospitals and free health coverage up to Rs 25 lakh.
- Will establish 700 public libraries for students.
- Will renew sewage infrastructure.
- Only treated water will be discharged in the Yamuna river.
- Bhaagidari Yojna will be re-introduced for NGOs to run at local level.
- People living in resettlement colonies and unauthorised colonies will be given ownership rights.
- 24 hour clean drinking water to be made available.
- provide Rs5,000 per month pension to senior citizens, widows, and persons with disabilities.
- Commitments to restore 15,000 Civil Defence Volunteers.
- Will provide career counselling facilities to youth.
- Will celebrate Chhath festival like Maha Kumbh.
- Will work to form 'Jain Welfare Board'.
Both AAP and BJP have released their manifestos earlier for the February 5 election. The counting is scheduled for Feb 8.
