Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy and Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Devender Yadav made these promises, aimed at helping the party get back on its feet in the city and beat the freebies being showered by the AAP and BJP. Reddy cited the similar schemes being implemented by the Congress government in Telangana and said the people can trust the party to deliver in Delhi as well.
Damage control
Meanwhile, Congress leaders attempted damage control after the BJP targeted Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday for his statement that fighting the RSS-BJP was like "fighting the India state itself".Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel argued that what Gandhi actually meant was that various institutions such as the ED, the Income Tax Department and the Central Bureau of Investigation were being misused by the government and that the Congress had to fight against their misuse.
