Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar on Monday unveiled the 'Pyari Didi' scheme, aimed at providing financial assistance to women, as part of the party’s campaign ahead of the Delhi elections.

Under the scheme, eligible women will receive Rs 2,500 per month. Highlighting the party’s commitment to women’s welfare, Shivakumar assured voters that this initiative would be implemented immediately after Congress forms the government in Delhi.

Speaking at the launch event, Shivakumar said, "Today, I am here to launch the 'Pyari Didi' scheme. I am confident that Congress will form the government in Delhi, and we will provide Rs 2,500 to women. This will be decided in the very first meeting of the cabinet—on the same model that we implemented in Karnataka."

The Congress leader referenced similar welfare programs successfully rolled out in Karnataka to underline the party's dedication to delivering on its promises.

The 'Pyari Didi' scheme forms a central pillar of the Congress party’s election manifesto in Delhi, aiming to connect with women voters and address financial challenges faced by households.
