New Delhi: Vowing to end Left-wing extremism from poll-bound Chhattisgarh, Union home minister Amit Shah said the state will celebrate Diwali thrice - first, on the festival day; second, when BJP will wrest the state from Congress; and third, when Ram temple's construction will be completed in January.

Addressing an election rally in Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh, Shah urged people to bring BJP back to power in the state, promising that his party will free the state from Maoist menace.

Shah said: "People of Chhattisgarh will celebrate Diwali thrice - first, on the day of the festival; second, when BJP will be elected to power on December 3; third, when the construction of Ram temple will be completed in January, as Chhattisgarh is the nanihal (maternal grandparents' place) of Lord Ram."

"Elect BJP to power in the state, we will free the entire state of the menace," Shah said while speaking about Left-wing extremism.

Polling for 90 assembly seats in the state is scheduled to be held in two phases on November 7 and 17 and counting will happen on December 3.
