ECI team arrives in Assam to review poll preparedness in Assam
Guwahati: A delegation of the Election Commission of India (ECI) led by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar arrived in Assam capital town Guwahati on Monday on a three-day visit.

The ECI delegation will take part in discussion with different stakeholders ahead of the Assembly elections in Assam slated for April- May this year.

The ECI delegation will meet representatives of different registered national political parties and representatives of regional political parties.


The ECI delegation will also meet the official of police and civil administration including the DGP, Assam police, IGPs, DIGs, District Election Officers and Superintendent of Police id different districts.

A statement issued by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer Assam said that on February 18, the ECI delegation would meet the state Chief secretary, other law enforcing agencies, nodal officers of the CAPF etc. the ECI would also address the media before leaving for Delhi on February 18.
