Assam polls: Rahul Gandhi promises govt jobs to students, no CAA if Congress voted to power
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said within six hours of being voted to power in Assam, the party will increase the daily wages of tea workers to Rs 365. Rahul addressed election rally in Doom Dooma, interacted with students in Lahowal and with tea workers in Chabua.

All these places are in Upper Assam. Gandhi said, “We will within six hours of coming to power increase the daily wages to Rs 365 per day. The BJP-led government had promised to hike the daily wages to ₹350 per day but never paid. This is one guarantee which we are giving to the people of Assam.”

He said, “Whatever might be the economics of it and whatever might economists think, we are going to do it. In Chhattisgarh, we have earlier given loan waiver to farmers.” In the run-up to polls, Congress has announced five guarantees which it will provide once voted to power.
