If Congress returns, it will bring back scams, says JP Nadda

BJP national president JP Nadda said if the Congress returned to power, it would also bring back scams.

The Congress is fighting communists in Kerala, but is together with the communists in West Bengal and with the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in Assam, Nadda said, addressing an election rally at Jamugurihat in North Bank of Brahmaputra on Monday. “Congress mission is only commission,” he said.

Assuring to protect the culture of Assam and ensure fast-track development of the state, the BJP president said: “Weigh the 60 years of Congress rule and 60 months of the BJP-led government in Assam, works of 60 months will weigh far more.”

Nadda said the Congress “has killed the soul of the Congress”. Without naming AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal, he said former Congress chief minister Tarun Gogoi had asked “who he was ... and now they are saying my friend, my brother”. Nadda was apparently referring to Gogoi’s statement ahead of the 2006 assembly polls, when he had asked “Who is Badruddin”.

Nadda said the Congress governments had delayed the construction of the Bogibeel bridge, which the BJP government had completed with a cost of Rs 6,000 crore. “Assam in the last five years got 15 national highways. The face of Assam has changed,” he said. Asserting that the BJP means development, he said the Congress has a habit of dilly-dallying.
