Guwahati: Ruling BJP in Assam launched “Jan Ashirwad Yatra” (Peoples blessing rally) on Saturday.

The rally started from Gupteshwar Temple at Dhekiajuli. The Yatra was formally inaugurated in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and State unit President Shri Dilip Saikia.

Himanta Biswa Sarma underscored the government’s steadfast commitment to holistic development, strengthening infrastructure, expanding industrial and employment opportunities, and ensuring the welfare of every section of society. Simultaneously, the people were called upon to unite in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s grand vision of a “Viksit Bharat” and a “Viksit Assam,” translating aspiration into action and vision into reality.

The Yatra proceeds from Gupteshwar Temple through Barsola, Tezpur, Naduar, and Rangapara. The party informed that the yatra is planned to travel approximately 70–80 kilometres per day, with an outreach target of nearly one lakh people daily.

Assam is going to assembly polls in March-April this year. The BJP government is aiming to win a third consecutive term in the state.
