At a programme held on the premises, Shah inaugurated the Pragjyotishpur Medical College and Hospital in Guwahati, built at a cost of Rs 675 crore.

The BJP leader also virtually launched two cancer treatment centres at Golaghat and Tinsukia, each developed at a cost of Rs 135 crore under the Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF).
The Union home minister further laid the foundation stone for a series of super-speciality healthcare facilities across the state. These include projects at Diphu Medical College and Hospital (Rs 220 crore), Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (Rs 310 crore) and Barpeta Medical College and Hospital (Rs 284 crore).
In addition, Shah virtually laid the foundation stone for the Rs 218-crore Swasthya Bhawan in Guwahati and the Rs 115-crore Abhayapuri District Hospital, aimed at strengthening healthcare administration and expanding treatment capacity in the state.
Shah arrived in Assam on Saturday evening on a two-day visit - his fourth trip to the northeastern state in the past four months.
