AIUDF chief won’t be allowed to determine fate of people: Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal won’t be allowed to determine fate of the people of Assam

Sonowal said that people of the state have already started witnessing the ‘positive changes’ which are the results of promises that the BJP led government in Assam made in 2016.

While campaigning for the candidates of the BJP and its allies at Thowra, Amguri, Mariani, Titabar and Jorhat , Sonowal said that the promises made by the BJP was implemented in letter and spirit.


Speaking at an election rally in Thowra for BJP candidate Kushal Duori Sonowal said that the misrule of the erstwhile Congress government led to despair, desperation among the people of the state living in Barak, Brahmaputra, hills and plains. People were deprived of their rights and privileges.

He said that the model of development ushered in in the last five years in Assam has become a development narrative in others areas of the country as well. Sonowal also said that in a very limited period, the government took bold steps for the all-round development of all sections of the people of the state. He also said that the confident people of the state produced several items including agricultural produce which captured not only the markets of the country but outside.

Sonowal also observed that had the Congress Government been serious about the welfare of the people, the party could have done a lot of good things in the last 55 years. He said that during the Congress rule, people did not get anything without unfair means and as a result there was gloom everywhere. But the BJP led government with its zero-tolerance against corruption, brought in trust and credibility in the state.

He also said that there has been a conspiracy hatched by the united force of Congress and AIUDF to malign the age old amity of the people of the state. he also requested the people of Assam to help the BJP and its allies to counter the conspiracy for the benefits of the people of Assam
