Assembly Elections 2024: Andhra Pradesh records 78.3% voter turnout, Odisha logs 73.9%

The two states electing their Legislative Assemblies - Andhra Pradesh and Odisha - on Monday, alongside the fourth phase polling for the Lok Sabha elections recorded 78.3% and 73.9% voter turnout.

Governor S Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu along with their respective family members, were among the early voters in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

Incumbent YSRCP, led by Jagan, is contesting all the 175 Assembly seats in the state, while the NDA is splittling its seats between the Telugu Desam Party, the Jana Sena Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party.


The TDP is contesting across 144 Assembly seats, with the BJP taking 10 and the Pawan Kalyan-led Janasena taking up the remaining 21 Assembly seats.

Monday's polls in Andhra Pradesh saw multiple celebrities cast their vote, with JSP boss and actor Pawan Kalyan casting his vote in the Mangalagiri Assembly constituency in the Guntur district, while Balakrishna - actor and son of former Andhra Prades CM NT Rama Rao - exercised his franchise in the Hindupur constituency in Sri Sathya Sai district, where he is also contesting the Assembly elections.
