RBI’s MPC announces launch of podcasts as new communication channel

The Reserve Bank of India's Monetary Policy Committee on Friday announced that it will be adding another medium of communication of through podcasts. The announcement was made by Governor Shaktikanta Das on Friday in what is his last speech of this term.

The decision was taken by a six member committee led by Das after a two day meeting that began on December 4. The move is aimed at enhancing engagement and transparency.

"Over the years, the Reserve Bank has expanded its communication toolkit and techniques to enhance transparency and better connect with the people. In continuance of this endeavour, the Reserve Bank proposes to add ‘podcasts’ to its communication toolkit for wider dissemination of information," said the central bank governor while addressing the press conference on Friday.
