Bihar: Cabinet okays four-lane Sahebganj-Areraj-Bettiah section NH-139W at Rs 3,822.31 cr

The four-lane greenfield project to improve connectivity between Patna and Bettiah. It will link north Bihar districts of Vaishali, Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, East and West Champaran. It will also link areas along the Nepal-Bihar border.

The Cabinet has given the green light for the construction of the four-lane Sahebganj-Areraj-Bettiah section of the National Highway-139W in Bihar. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw made the announcement to this effect at a press briefing on September 24.

The project will be undertaken under Hybrid Annuity Mode with a total project length of 78.942 km at an outlay of Rs 3,822.31 crore.

The four-lane greenfield project to improve connectivity between Patna and Bettiah. It will link north Bihar districts of Vaishali, Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, East and West Champaran. It will also link areas along the Nepal-Bihar border.


It was announced at the press briefing that the project will generate a total of 14.22 lakh man-days of direct 17.69 lakh man-days of indirect employment.

The project will connect seven PM Gati Shakti Economic Nodes, six Social Nodes, eight Logistic Nodes, and nine major tourism and religious centres.
