Walton’s Grandson Steuart Walton on Flipkart Board?

NEW DELHI Steuart Walton, the grandson of Walmart founder Sam Walton, is likely to join the board of Flipkart, said a person familiar with the development. Walmart International president Judith Mckenna and Dirk Van den Berghe, executive VP and regional CEO, Walmart Canada and Asia, are also expected to become directors. Walmart is expected to have three members on the 10-member board .

“The family is looking at the India business as a future growth engine for Asia-Pacific,” said the person cited above. Steuart Walton is a director of Walmart and Rapha Racing, a cycling apparel business, and is active in the governance and operations of many of his family’s enterprises. Walmart India CEO Krish Iyer is likely to be the part of integration team from Walmart that will work on the transition of management.
