RPG Group to launch 24x7 harassment prevention helpline R-Shield

The RPG Group is launching a 24x7 harassment prevention helpline, R-Shield, initially for its employees in India numbering more than 50,000.

This helpline goes beyond addressing sexual harassment issues. It will cover all kinds of harassment faced at the workplace including physical or psychological, whether emboldened by power or position, such as non-binary gender harassment, bullying, body shaming, ageism, racism, ethnicity and types of disability.

“R-Shield, our new 24x7 harassment prevention helpline, is aimed at taking our commitment to its next level and creating an empowered workplace free from any form of fear or biases,” RPG Group chief talent officer Supratik Bhattacharyya told ET.


This helpline will be managed by an external team of legal experts and psychologists.

As phase-1 of this initiative, R-Shield will be available to all employees in India, including at factories, project sites and branch offices. Next, the company intends to take this initiative to all employees globally in phases.

The RPG Group is also ramping up hiring of employees with expertise in digitalisation, data science and analytics for the year ahead. As of now, employees can work up to 50% from remote locations. The rest of the days, they need to come to the office depending on their roles and business needs, Bhattacharyya said.
