While the company follows an unlimited leave policy, the mandatory paid time off has been announced to ensure that every employee takes the time to embrace change and emerge resilient.
Travel company MakeMyTrip has introduced a series of new employee initiatives to help employees reset and recharge as part of its wellness initiatives during the pandemic, said a statement issued today.

Among the various initiatives rolled out for its employees, the company has introduced mandatory paid time off to be availed before the end of this year. Through the initiative, the company hopes to encourage its employees to take a pause, disconnect from official commitments, and revitalise themselves by choosing to spend time with their loved ones or taking a much-needed holiday.

While the company follows an unlimited leave policy, the mandatory paid time off has been announced to ensure that every employee takes the time to embrace change and emerge resilient. Employees will take a no-questions-asked paid time off for three working days before 31st December, 2021 and will be encouraged to club these offs with a weekend to get an extended long break. All managers will help their teams forward plan their leaves to ensure that there is no impact on productivity.

“Our employees are our biggest assets and their well-being is our topmost priority. We have made several interventions from time to time – be it introducing new initiatives or iterating existing processes as we continue with new ways of working thrust upon us as a result of the pandemic. Our new initiatives reflect our commitment towards our employees and we hope it will help energise the workforce as they take this time for self-care while also continuing to support Covid-impacted employees with medical and financial assistance,” said Yuvaraj Srivastava, group chief human resource officer, MakeMyTrip.
