NEW DELHI: Pallavi Kathuria has been appointed managing director of global search firm Egon Zehnder’s India operations, replacing Govind Iyer, who will focus on CEO succession and board consulting.

Kathuria, based in Delhi, has played a key role in expanding the company's presence and capability in the technology and digital segment, both in India and in Asia Pacific. She is the first female managing director of the company.

"She will hand over her responsibility as the Asia Pacific leader for technology and communications to Gaurav Gupta, based in Bengaluru," Rajeev Vasudeva, the company's global CEO, told ET.

Kathuria moved to Egon Zehnder in 2011after more than 15 years of leadership experience at Microsoft, both in India and in the US. She advises senior leaders in the technology space and in enabling the growth of the digital sector in the country.

Iyer, the third managing partner of the search firm in India, has been with the company for the last 22 years.

He was recently elected as member of the global Partnership Evaluation Committee and was also chosen to lead the firm’s private capital practice in Asia Pacific.
