The small-cap fund sold 22,792 shares of SBI Funds Management during the month. It also offloaded nearly 5.91 lakh shares of Jubilant FoodWorks. Among the other four stocks from which the fund made a complete exit, Viyash Scientific saw the highest number of shares sold.

The fund sold 1.12 crore shares of Viyash Scientific from its portfolio, followed by 78.99 lakh shares of EPL Ltd, 24.78 lakh shares of Man Infraconstruction and 11.43 lakh shares of Himadri Speciality Chemical in August.
Around four new stocks were added to the portfolio during the month. Among these, 85.15 lakh shares of Indegene were added, followed by 54.37 lakh shares of Gujarat Themis Biosyn Ltd - QIP.
Info Edge (India) and Sudarshan Chemical Industries were the other two new entrants to the portfolio, with nearly 5.57 lakh shares of Info Edge (India) and 2.09 lakh shares of Sudarshan Chemical Industries added during the month.
The fund increased its exposure to around 12 stocks in August. It added around 27.28 lakh shares of Karnataka Bank, taking its total holding to 1.74 crore shares. The fund also added 24.58 lakh shares of Sonata Software, 13.26 lakh shares of Redington and 10 lakh shares of Hexaware Technologies.
Among the other eight stocks where the fund increased its exposure, Pfizer saw the highest number of shares added. The fund bought 7.11 lakh shares, taking its total holding to 16.25 lakh shares.
The other seven stocks were Blackbuck, Gabriel India, Just Dial, Manappuram Finance, Strides Pharma Science, Sumitomo Chemical India and Welspun Corporation, where the fund increased its exposure.
The fund reduced its exposure to nearly seven stocks in August. It sold around 11.50 lakh shares of Gujarat State Fertilisers & Chemicals, taking its total holding to 65.11 lakh shares.
Nearly 10.30 lakh shares of Oswal Pumps and 8.62 lakh shares of Rishabh Instruments were also sold, resulting in a reduction in exposure. Aster DM Healthcare, Ethos, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals and Sula Vineyards were the other four stocks where the small-cap fund reduced its exposure.
The fund’s exposure remained unchanged in 81 stocks, including Adani Enterprises, Adani Green Energy, Adani Power, Apollo Tyres, Bandhan Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, LIC Housing Finance, NCC, Oriental Hotels, RBL Bank and Zydus Wellness.
As a percentage of NAV, the fund had its highest allocation to HFCL at around 6.70%, followed by RBL Bank and Adani Enterprises, where the allocation stood at 4.40% and 4.30%, respectively.
In August, the small-cap fund had 104 stocks in its portfolio, compared with 106 in the previous month. Launched on October 29, 1996, the fund had an AUM of Rs 35,557 crore in August 2026, up from Rs 34,069 crore in the previous month.

The fund is benchmarked against the Nifty Smallcap 250 TRI and is managed by Sandeep Tandon, Ankit Pande, Varun Pattani, Ayusha Kumbhat, Yug Tibrewal, Sameer Kate and Sanjeev Sharma.
According to the monthly factsheet, Quant Small Cap Fund is suitable for investors with a long-term investment horizon and a high risk appetite. The majority of the portfolio is invested in high-growth companies with attractive valuations and relatively low ownership.
During August 2026, exposure to Healthcare (+1.52%) and Telecom (+1.24%) was increased, while exposure to Power (-0.86%), Capital Goods (-0.64%) and Metals (-0.49%) was reduced, the fund house said.
