I have a moderate risk appetite. I want to invest for my retirement (at age 60), child education (18 years) child marriage (22 years). Currently, I am investing Rs 1,000 per month each in ICICI Pru Value Discovery Fund and Rs 1,000 in HDFC Balanced fund, Rs 2,000 per month in Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund. I am making these investments since 2018. I am also investing Rs 8,000 per month in PPF as well. Am I investing in the right schemes? I am 32 year old.

Shweta Jain, founder, Investography, responds:

You need to set your goal amounts as well so you know if you are investing enough to reach your goals. The schemes are fine, PPF is a good addition for long term investments too. You will need to focus and start saving more every year. Give your SIP an increment too every year.
