Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 2.44% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Granules India(up 6.93 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 5.08 per cent), Biocon(up 4.39 per cent), Cipla(up 3.27 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma(up 2.86 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma(down 0.84 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 2.44 per cent at 12908.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 346.3 points at 16155.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 1110.46 points at 53902.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 49 were trading in the green, while 0 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, BHEL and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Welspun Corp, Esab India, Chennai Petro, De Nora India and Zenith Birla hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Retail, Birla Tyres, Sonu Infratech Ltd., Shyam Telecom and Prudent Corporate Advisory Services Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
