Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

Nagaraj Shetti, Technical Research Analyst at HDFC Securities, believes Monday's pattern could be considered as a High Wave, which reflects high volatility in the market at swing highs.
NEW DELHI: BSE(Rs. 2685.10 crore), Tata Motors(Rs. 2131.85 crore), Tata Steel(Rs. 1563.95 crore), ICICI Bank(Rs. 1392.10 crore), RIL(Rs. 1355.43 crore), Cipla(Rs. 1136.71 crore), HDFC Bank(Rs. 1057.87 crore), SBI(Rs. 1038.76 crore), Axis Bank(Rs. 991.22 crore) and ITC(Rs. 977.85 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Friday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 35.55 points up at 16630.45, while BSE Sensex rose 85.91 points to 55550.3.

In the Nifty index, Cipla Ltd.(up 5.76 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 3.73 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 3.72 per cent), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 2.92 per cent) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.(up 2.27 per cent) stood among the top gainers.


On the other hand, Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.82 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.51 per cent), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent) and NTPC Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
