Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

NEW DELHI: HDFC Bank(Rs. 1600.12 crore), HDFC(Rs. 1455.79 crore), Mazagon Dock Ship(Rs. 1429.96 crore), ICICI Bank(Rs. 1399.41 crore), Timken India(Rs. 1389.71 crore), HDFC AMC(Rs. 1346.12 crore), Tata Motors(Rs. 1042.19 crore), Kotak Bank(Rs. 846.33 crore), SBI(Rs. 823.10 crore) and RIL(Rs. 814.04 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Tuesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 61.25 points up at 18816.7, while BSE Sensex rose 159.4 points to 63327.7.

In the Nifty index, Tata Motors Ltd.(up 3.04 per cent), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 2.74 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.73 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.32 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.87 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.86 per cent), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 1.36 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 0.61 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
