Market rally based on exit polls: Anish Damania

In a chat with ET Now, Anish Damania, Head-Institutional Equities, IDFC Securities, shares his views on the expectations from market.

ET Now: So for the calendar year, you think the market can scale further heights post perhaps the budget or so?

Anish Damania: Market is factoring in a kind of a move towards a majority by the NDA. It is based on exit polls and we have seen in the past that exit polls have not been so correct. If exit polls do not turn out to be correct and follow the past trends, then there will be lot of disappointment. So, from that perspective, we will come back to lower levels but if what the exit polls say would be correct, then we probably might not see a number lower than 6900.
