Investors are more positive on economy now than 6-months back: Jaideep Goswami

In an interview with ET Now, Jaideep Goswami, Head of Institutional Equities, ICICI Securities Ltd shares his views on market outlook.

ET Now: Any interesting theme that stood out in the conference over the last couple of days.

Jaideep Goswami: There is always a desire to buy companies with good competitive edge. And, we have companies who are running a business in a very different and difficult economic environment and their brand power is holding so investors are interested to invest in such companies.

In general, investors are more positive on the economy now than they were six months back. The theme overriding is election and politics and we had a political panel so there is a strict verdict whether we are going to get a stable government or not. There are some discerning voice so one has to be reasonably engaged, investors are very interested to understand about the probability of a third front led government for example and what it will do to the market.

Barring some unforeseen situation the verdict of a stable government or vis-à-vis low probability of a third front government should be alright and investors are looking forward to the economy coming back on track.
