NEW DELHI: Shares of Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd. traded 1.57 per cent up in Friday's trade at 10:46AM (IST). Around 159,247 shares changed hands on the counter.

The counter opened at Rs 61.8 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 62.55 and Rs 59.55, respectively, in the session so far. Shares of the company of Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 179.25 and a 52-week low of Rs 29.9.

ECL Finance, the non-banking finance arm of the Edelweiss Group, has sold about Rs 4,000 crore of sticky corporate loans to global asset buyers in what would be the first such large transaction in India since the lockdown began.

Key Financials
The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 2625.39 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2019, up 11.1 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 2363.13 crore and up 4.59 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 2751.72 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 16.71 crore, down 92.61 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Mar-2020, DIIs held 2.11 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 31.05 per cent and the promoters 32.78 per cent.


Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 13.26 and a price-to-book ratio of 0.62. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
