Trending stocks: NLC India shares flat in early trade

NEW DELHI: Shares of NLC India traded 0.23 per cent down in Friday 's trade at 10:58AM (IST).
Around 13509 shares changed hands on the counter.

The scrip opened at Rs 43.5 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 43.95 and Rs 42.55 , respectively, in the session so far. The stock quoted a 52-week high of Rs 72.5 and a 52-week low of Rs 35.05 .

The company has formed a six-member panel to enquire into the boiler explosion at its thermal plant in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu, in which eight persons injured.

Key Financials
The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 2742.6 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2019 , up 13.03 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 2426.42 crore and up 2.31 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 2680.77 crore.

Bottomline for the latest quarter stood at Rs 398.75 crore, up 14.17 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year .

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Dec-2019 , domestic institutional investors held 0.48 per cent stake in the company , while foreign institutional investors held 0.41 per cent and the promoters 80.7 per cent.


Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of 4.26 and a price-to-book ratio of 0.44 . A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
