Stocks that hit fresh 52-week low on Friday

NEW DELHI: Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty was trading 26.60 points down at 8,408.5 in the late morning trade on Friday on account of some selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Birla Cotsyn, Divis Lab, Nitesh Estates, Shekhawati Poly, Rasoya Proteins, Raj Rayon, Advanced Enzyme Technologies Ltd, Gandhi Special touched their new 52-week low on January 20.

The BSE Sensex was trading 102.79 points down at 27,205.81 around 11.40 am. In the Nifty 50 index, Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel, Yes Bank, UltraTech Cem and Grasim Industries were trading in green. However, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Bharti Infratel and PowerGrid were among top losers in the 50-share index.

Traders were seen piling up position in telecommunications, gems and jewellery, shipping, equipments, electric equipment, beverages – alcoholic and tobacco sectors, however, selling were visible in packaging, iron and steel, glass, rubber, engineering and auto sectors.

In the BSE 500 index, 217 stocks were trading in green, while 276 stocks were in the grip of bears.
