Share market update: Bank shares slip; PNB down over 3%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with losses in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Punjab National Bank (down 3.69 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 2.13 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 1.58 per cent), Federal Bank (down 1.49 per cent), Axis Bank (down 1.48 per cent), IDFC BANK (down 1.24 per cent), RBL BANK (down 1.18 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 1.15 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 1.11 per cent), Yes Bank (down 0.99 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (down 0.44 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.15 per cent down at 30588.0 around 10:01 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 130.45 points at 11950.4 , while the BSE Sensex was down 407.78 points at 40762.34.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 were trading in the green, while 43 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, SBI, Tata Motors, PNB, Bharti Infratel, Ashok Leyland and Hindalco Inds. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
