Share market update: Bank shares gain; Yes Bank surges 20%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with gains in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Yes Bank (up 20 per cent), RBL BANK (up 12.01 per cent), IDFCBANK (up 2.57 per cent), Federal Bank (up 1.3 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 1.28 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 0.76 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 0.75 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 0.58 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 0.12 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.21 per cent up at 26518.2 around 09:53 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 2.25 points at 10453.7 , while the BSE Sensex was up 36.65 points at 35671.6 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, Tata Motors, ONGC, RBL Bank Ltd., BHEL, RIL, YES Bank and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
