Share market update: Bank shares down; IndusInd Bank dips 4%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with losses in Thursday's session.

Shares of IndusInd Bank (down 3.86 per cent) , IDFCBANK (down 3.43 per cent) , HDFC Bank (down 2.75 per cent) , ICICI Bank (down 2.74 per cent) , State Bank of India (down 2.7 per cent) , Axis Bank (down 1.82 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (down 1.47 per cent) , Bandhan Bank (down 1.19 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (down 1.13 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 2.17 per cent down at 19207.9 around 12:01PM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 171.00 points at 9212.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 619.02 points at 31389.59.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of BHEL, Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, Adani Power, Tata Motors, Vedanta , SBI, NBCC and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
