Sensex up; RIL, Delta Corp hit fresh 52-week high; Indoco Remedies at new 52-week low

NEW DELHI: The NSE Nifty index was trading 32.15 points higher at 9,205.90 in the morning trade on Monday following firm Asian cues amid sustained inflows by foreign institutional investors.

Shares of Reliance Industries ( RIL), Advani Hotels, RattanIndia Infra, Delta Corp, Emami Infra, Murudeshwar Cera, Shakti Pumps, Oriental Carbon, Ginni Filaments, Vardhman Special, AksharChem Ltd, Phoenix Lamps and Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals hit their fresh 52-week high on NSE.

However, stocks such as Indoco Remedies, Green Fire Agri, Noida Toll Bridge, Energy Development Co, Shekhawati Poly, FCS Software, VKS Projects, Ind-Swift Labs, Sharon Bio-Med, ANG Industries, Unity Infraproj and Rasoya Proteins touched their fresh 52-week low.

Overall, 23 shares in the Nifty index were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, RIL, Larsen & Toubro, GAIL, Ambuja Cements, HDFC, UltraTech Cement, ACC, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki and Axis Bank were among the top gainers, while Bharti Airtel, Wipro, BPCL, Bharti Infratel, Indian Oil Corp, IndusInd Bank, Infosys, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Indiabulls Housing Finance, and Tata Power were trading in the red around 11.10 am (IST).

The BSE Sensex was up 168.87 points at 29,789.37 at around the same time.

Traders were seen piling up position in equipments, cables, shipping, petrochemicals, cement, personal care, finance, tobacco, retail, paints and pigments, food processing sectors, while selling was visible in iron and steel, glass, textiles, auto, and banking sectors.
