Sensex up; Aditya Birla Money, Madra Fertilizers hit fresh 52-week high

NEW DELHI: The domestic equity market was trading with gains in afternoon trade on Wednesday

Shares of BSEL Infra, Aditya Birla Money, GTN Textiles, TN Petroprod, RattanIndia Infra, V Mart Retail, Madras Fertilizers, Neuland Labs, Summit Sec, Himadri Chem, Avanti Feeds, Ramky Infra, Technocraft Ind and AVT Nat Prod hit their fresh 52-week high.

On the other hand, stocks such as Rasoya Proteins, Gallantt Ispat, Concor, FCS Software, VKS Projects, Green Fire Agri, Shekhawati Poly touched their fresh 52-week low.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 7.80 points higher at 9,245.65 in late morning trade around 11.30 am (IST). Overall, 31 shares were trading in the green in the Nifty 50 index, while 20 were in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, Adani Ports SEZ, Bharti Infratel, Grasim Inds., Tata Steel, Hindalco Inds., NTPC, Maruti Suzuki, Bosch, Kotak Bank, RIL, Larsen & Toubro, Lupin, UltraTech Cem., Tata Motors and Zee Ent were among the top gainers, while HDFC, Indiabulls Housing Finance, M&M, HCL Tech, Infosys, ITC, Asian Paints, BPCL, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Coal India Ltd, TCS, GAIL, Sun Pharma and Aurobindo Pharm were trading in the red.

The BSE Sensex was up 7.04 points at 29,917.26 around the same time.

Traders were seen piling up positions in gems and jewellery, equipments, infrastructure, shipping, cables, beverages - non-alcoholic, retail, power, leather, personal care, hospitality, food processing, finance, petrochemicals, construction sectors, while selling was visible in engineering, transport, textiles, auto, banks, and tea and coffee sectors.
