RBI approves Bakhshi’s reappointment as ICICI CEO

Mumbai: ICICI Bank on Tuesday said that the Reserve Bank of India approved the re-appointment of Sandeep Bakhshi as managing director & CEO for another two years. The appointment is effective from October 15, 2021, to October 3, 2023.

The bank’s shareholders had approved Bakhshi’s appointment for a five-year tenure (effective from October 15, 2018, to October 3, 2023) at the Annual General Meeting held in August 2019.

Bakhshi was elevated as the bank’s chief in October 2018 after predecessor Chanda Kochhar had resigned after facing an enquiry.
